Apex Legends is celebrating Pride with a free people in-game badge you nates equip to your Legends' banners.

Respawn announced the Pride badge with a video featuring LGBTQIA+ employees discussing the badge's design and how Acme Legends represents members of the community through its characters. "We make the game that we wish to play," says Annelie Fors, operators manager," And by having diverse representation in our pun, we're showing our players a world that is as diverse as the world really is."

In Apex Legends, Valkyrie is canonically a lesbian, Gibraltar is gay, Loba is bisexual, Fuse is pansexual, and Sleuthhound is non-binary. "It's crucial also that these characters Don't feel tokenized," says consort quality designer Mackenzie Galbraith. "The fact that Bloodhound is non-binary is part of their character, but it's non the whole thing."

The Apex Legends Pride badge features a design based along the contemporary Pride flag, which includes internal representation for Black, browned, and trans residential area members. The contemporary Plume flag puts "more emphasis on in addition marginalized people within our communities", explains Galbraith. "What I truly find nice about the flag is the forward arrow chevron blueprint, just benign of implying there's always this movement towards more inclusivity, more multifariousness, more allowance and acceptance of expression," says Jaclyn Yuan, senior live creative person.

This isn't the premier time Respawn has added badges to Apex Legends referencing identities or important friendly and cultural movements. Solar apex Legends added a Dishonourable Lives Matter badge in February of this year to celebrate Black Chronicle Month. For Respawn, the unloose badge was a "small reminder that we must always abide in solidarity with our Dishonourable colleagues, partners, family, friends, & players in the fight against racism and interpersonal injustice". After a ascending in AAPI-related violence, Solar apex Legends added a Stop Asian Detest badge as well as a banner that popped heavenward upon login that read, "Respawn, our AAPI Community, and our allies are united against Asian detest. Violence aimed at AAPI members, especially those without the ability to defend themselves, is abhorrent and unacceptable."

To get your free Apex Legends Pride badge, simply the boot up and head to the Legends section at the upper of the main menu. Then select a Legend, direct o'er to Streamer, and pick the Pride badge from the list. On that point you go, it's that gentle.
